About The Consumer Party

About The Consumer Party:

Thank you for your interest in The Consumer Party. We are a People Movement, whose mission is to move the business and political realms of our daily lives toward a more ethical, sustainable and humane model, by utilizing our Strength of Numbers and our Power of Purchase.

Citizens around the world no longer believe their leaders are placing the interests and well-being of the people ahead of their own political and personal financial agendas…so, we have decided to turn the tables on those who have failed to perform the mission of their office.

We even have a song! “The Tide” is a Folk/Protest Song against labor abuses and economic injustice.

Lyrics:

THE TIDE

Mama lit the candle,

while Daddy drew the shade.

For a gathering of weary souls,

a gathering of fate.

Shivering in the darkness,

from the cold and the fear.

It had all but been decided

we can’t wait another year.

Preacher led the meeting,

and his voice sounded hard.

He said, “they can’t afford to see the ones

who toil in the dark”.

Yes, they’ll give a little something,

to show that they care.

But that won’t change the fact that

Profit comes from somewhere…

CHORUS:

We will flow to the river.

We will meet in the sea.

We will make the world together,

just between you and me.

We will rise.

We will sing.

We will love and be free.

We will find,

we have learned…

to be free.

VERSE 2:

Walls keep getting higher

as private bank accounts grow fat.

And poor girls sell their bodies.

Hell, just one more resource to tap.

Captains of finance

have transferred all the wealth.

Rewarded and promoted,

‘stead of spending time in jail.

We were squeezed for a short-term gain.

Sold tickets on a one-way train.

Pensions lost in a foreign land.

Off-shored by an invisible hand.

Soldiers killing children

for a raise and a job.

Bullets silence protests

for those who steal and rob.

CHORUS:

We will flow to the river.

We will meet in the sea.

We will make the world together,

just between you and me.

We will rise.

We will sing.

We will love and be free.

We will find,

we have learned…

to be free!
